Traditional craft. Playful creativity.
A love of making things by hand.

Meet Emily.

Emily Coles is an artist, master weaver and maker based in St. Paul, Minnesota, where she lives with her husband, daughter and two rescue dogs, Tilly and Nyx. Alongside her career in administration, she has spent years exploring the creative arts.

A thread through traditional craft.

During a Fulbright experience in Bulgaria in 2012, Emily learned traditional Bulgarian knitting and developed a deeper appreciation for the cultural stories carried through handmade traditions. In 2015, she completed a weaving apprenticeship in Serbia, earning the distinction of master weaver.

From paper to print.

In 2024, Emily began exploring collage, creating vibrant, simple artwork for her own home. Her process begins with hand-cut and assembled paper compositions, which she translates into digital artwork for colorful prints.

Made with care.

Inspired by the birth of her daughter, Emily created The Travelling Lovey. Each handmade, Waldorf-inspired companion is unique, bringing together her love of craft, family and playful creativity.
